Fatima – A Message for Our Times

(NSGH) Today, May 13, 2026, amid the sacred atmosphere of the Marian month dedicated to Our Lady, my heart turns prayerfully toward the holy event of Fatima that took place 109 years ago. There, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to three humble shepherd children and entrusted humanity with a message filled with love and hope:

Pray the Rosary faithfully
Repent and amend your lives
Foster devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

The message of Fatima was not meant only for those living in the early twentieth century, amid war, suffering, and division. Our Lady’s words remain profoundly relevant for people of every age. Today, she continues to speak to each one of us — to those struggling amid the burdens of daily life, fleeting ambitions, and the hidden anxieties of the human heart.
How often we drift away from God and forget the loving counsels of Our Blessed Mother, seeking success and peace in wealth or in the passing attractions of the world, only to find ourselves weary and spiritually empty. Yet in the gentle embrace of the Virgin Mary, we rediscover the tenderness of faith and the peace that comes from entrusting ourselves to God. Every Hail Mary becomes a step back toward the Lord; every quiet sacrifice, a spiritual flower offered to Our Lady; every act of charity, a living response to the Gospel in our daily lives.

Today, as the faithful gather around Our Mother, offering simple flowers of devotion, sincere prayers of the Rosary, and the concerns of everyday life, we are putting into practice the message of Our Lady of Fatima. May each of us open our hearts to listen to and live out her maternal call. May she teach us to live more simply, more humbly, and to love more generously each day.

Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, may every soul find deep interior peace, the courage for true conversion, fidelity to the Rosary, and steadfast hope. We believe that within Our Mother’s loving care, we are never alone or afraid. Amid the uncertainties of life, we remain confident that she continues to walk beside us, protecting us and gently leading us ever closer to God.
