(NSGH) In the spiritual atmosphere of the Marian month of May, at 5:00 PM on May 13, 2026, the faithful of Lac Son Parish, Don Duong Deanery, solemnly celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, the patroness of the parish. This year’s celebration was made even more meaningful as the community united in thanksgiving to God on the occasion of the 10th priestly anniversary of their pastor, Father Joseph Tran Duc Cong.

From the early hours of the evening, the parish grounds came alive with hymns, prayers, and colorful floral offerings presented to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Parish associations, youth groups, and children joined together in offering flowers to Our Lady with simple yet heartfelt devotion. Every song and graceful movement expressed the love and filial trust of the faithful toward Our Lady of Fatima during this Marian month.

Following the floral offering ceremony, the parish community solemnly carried the statue of the Blessed Mother in procession around the church grounds. A large number of parishioners from various mission communities, together with pilgrims from neighboring areas, participated prayerfully in an atmosphere of reverence and unity. Although the weather was initially quite warm, the evening gradually became cooler and more pleasant, as many joyfully remarked upon the gentle intercession of Our Lady of Fatima.

The solemn concelebrated Mass began at 6:00 PM and was presided over by Father Joseph Tran Duc Cong, pastor of Lac Son Parish. Joining him were priests from Don Duong Deanery, monks and priests from Chau Son Abbey of Our Lady, visiting clergy, religious brothers and sisters, benefactors, and a large gathering of the faithful from near and far.

In his homily, Father James Tran Van Van of Chau Son Abbey reflected on the unique role of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the life of the Church. He emphasized that Mary continually accompanies the People of God, offering encouragement, spiritual strength, and maternal intercession as the faithful carry out the mission of proclaiming the Gospel.
Referring to the 10th anniversary of Father Joseph’s priesthood, Father James also spoke movingly about the vocation to priestly life. He noted that the priestly journey is marked by sacrifices, trials, and human weakness. Yet amid these challenges, priests continually experience the loving guidance and protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The blessings and fruits of priestly ministry, he said, do not come merely from personal ability, but above all from God’s grace bestowed through the powerful intercession of the Mother of God.

Before the conclusion of the Mass, a representative of the Parish Pastoral Council expressed gratitude to God and extended sincere thanks to the clergy, religious, benefactors, and all who gathered in prayer for the parish feast day. On behalf of the parish community, he also conveyed heartfelt congratulations and deep appreciation to Father Joseph Tran Duc Cong on the joyful occasion of his 10th anniversary of priestly ordination.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, the joyful spirit of the occasion continued with a fraternal banquet, where parishioners and guests shared fellowship, warm conversations, and best wishes. The celebration concluded in an atmosphere filled with gratitude, unity, and grace at Lac Son Parish.
